ZA's postdisaster masterplan for the earthquake-afflicted city of Fushë-Krujë is nearing completion. The concrete rigid frame superstructure of the multifamily buildings is complete, meanwhile families have already moved into the single-family homes and are settling into the new neighborhood. Once complete, the masterplan will provide facilities for housing, education, healthcare, and recreation to 1,200 residents who were displaced from their homes by Albania's 2019 earthquake. The masterplan, designed by ZA in collaboration local firm Varka, was commissioned by the National Territorial Planning Agency of Albania (AKPT) in cooperation with the Albanian Ministry of Culture and the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama. The project is being implemented the Albanian Development Fund (ADF) with financial support coming an international community of post-disaster donors led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
